This project began with a bittersweet tale of a rescued dog and full colored illustrated adventures with his new family in book 1 - ABC's. The first book was so well-liked by readers of all ages, that the Author decided to continue utilizing Malibu's journeys in a mission to motivate children to learn.

Book 2- 123's is where Malibu makes learning basic numbers fun and engaging. This book advances children from learning their basic alphabet and words related to them, forward and onto learning basic numbers 1-10, by imprinting the mind with familiar illustrations, receptiveness, and consistency. Malibu also makes a guest appearance on some of these pages as well to encourage the children with excitement, allowing their eyes to search for him while following along in the book and learning in a fun and engaging way. Can you count how many clouds are in the sky, fish in the pond, or how many times Malibu appears throughout the book?

This continued project was a labor of love with thoughts of children, education, art, and the life experiences of rescued pups in mind- like Malibu. Although the books were designed to target children ages 1 year to 8 years of age, we continue to believe it is truly a series of books the entire family will enjoy


Contributor Bio(s): Ann, Candina: - "About the Author Candina Ann was born into a family that included her father, who served 22 years in the Navy and then became an editor for the original Tribune newspaper, and a mother she refers to as "the Martha Stewart of her time." Candina is the youngest of 3 older siblings - a sister and two brothers. She began writing poems at an early age, words that began arriving to her in her dreams. One of those poems, called Just for You, were words that arrived in the night while in complete slumber. She awoke immediately to write them down, and the same month was published by Quill Books as part of a collection of poetry writers. In addition to writing, she served as a community volunteer beginning with placement on various sports organizations working on the committees to assist in raising funds. Her exposure, love, and natural ability to nurture children, led her interest into taking college course in Child Psychology to explore her personal life more in-depth, not realizing it would lead her on a path in the field of Crisis Intervention Mediation. After the youth group branch, she worked at was taken over by another organization she began exploring life's other opportunities, but still remains great friends with the director who encouraged her growth while in that field. Candina is currently an owner of a small successful business, is married, has two children, two grandchildren, and is an adopted aunt and mom to many in heart. She remains connected to many of the children she met along the way, who have come to know her as Aunty, Mama-bear, and was even honored to be chosen a God Mother to 2 as well. She has a great passion for life, love, and quality time, so in between her daily activities she commits to finding balance by incorporating family, hobbies, and even pet time! She absolutely adores her family and her pups, and wants Malibu to be the star of her books, fitting since he now is a star that shines already in Heaven. This book, Adventures in Learning with Malibu (ABC's) is the first in a series of Malibu books. Others include learning numbers (123's) and an activity and coloring book (Hidden Shapes & Color Me). All of which will she truly believes will bring enjoyment, education, and encouragement into the lives of all children, and hopefully their families as well.
