All of our bargain books are brand new, perfectly readable and represent a tremendous value! The bargain books are, however, publisher overstocks and remainders that TRW purchases at deep discounts. As a result, they may have a small mark through the UPC bar code or a small mark on the side of the book. This is simply to mark the books so they cannot be sent back to a publisher. Because of this, bargain books are non returnable to TRW unless they are damaged. Please consider this before ordering.

Annotation: This book, second in a trilogy of free-verse tours of the Earth and its inhabitants, testifies to the wonders of our planet and how it came to be. This celebrated children's poet and dynamic illustrator team up to give the reader a sense of the continuity of Earth--a global awareness--and how humans connect to all life. After visiting each of the major habitats and geological features of Earth, the tour ends with two more very important "habitats"--the town and the school.

Reviewed by Horn Book Guide Reviews (Horn Book Guide Reviews 2002 Spring)
Lush illustrations accompany the text, which is part poetry and part prose. The goal of linking all life forms is laudable, but some of what purports to be science is questionable. Each subtopic, from ""Sky"" to ""School,"" has a double-page spread; some of the metaphors are moving, and some are jarringly mixed. Copyright 2002 Horn Book Guide Reviews
