K-Gr 2-These small-format beginning readers introduce prominent American figures. Each one is concise (approximately 200 words) with vocabulary appropriate for its target audience. Each spread includes a full-page picture opposite two or three sentences of text. In addition to a few dates, the information provided is very basic. The illustrations are a blend of generic photographs, paintings, and reproductions; many are grainy or lack contrast.
