Contributor Bio(s): Jewell, Clarence "Chip": - Clarence Chip Jewell, co-author of Arcadia s Images of America: Firefighting in Frederick, is the director of Volunteer Fire and Rescue Services for Frederick County and an instructor for the Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute. He has served as a volunteer firefighter and emergency medical technician for 36 years. In 1995, he was named to the Maryland State Fireman s Hall of Fame. His living history presentation on the early Frederick fire service is a favorite throughout Frederick County. |
