Gilbert Balderramalives in Acton, California, with his wife, Jane, five horses, ten chickens, and two cats. Between the two of them, they have six children and twenty grandchildren.
As a child, during difficult times Gilbert often found comfort at his school library, immersing himself in as many children's books as he could. This has inspired him to offer similar comfort to other children through his writing. Gilbert has sought to help children in the nonprofit sector as well. He is currently the acting board president of The Sherman Group Inc., a group home provider for at-risk youth in the state of California.
Gilbert still loves to read in his spare time, but he also enjoys traveling, playing his vinyl records, and deejaying special events for family and friends.
Danny Bundy and the Search for the Butterflyis the first in a series of six planned children's books.
