Publisher Description:

The double economic and health pandemic of global capitalism in 2020 shows dramatically that the current civilizational model of modernity of overflowing financialization and growing ecocide as new highways of accumulation by dispossession that threatens the destruction of the planet is unsustainable.

This book presents various works that analyze the impacts of the double pandemic on economic, social, institutional and environmental reproduction worldwide, in Latin America and Mexico. As a reflection of the world debate on these impacts, several authors agree that in the face of planetary confinement, collective fear and social demobilization, it is difficult for structural changes to be generated in the functioning of global capitalism, but the depth of the global capitalism pandemic has forced the recognition of the importance of state participation and regulation for economic reactivation, health care, the environment and social cohesion as global, regional and national priorities.
