Persuasion is the last novel fully completed by the English novelist Jane Austen.

The admiral's brother-in-law was once engaged with Anne but their engagement was broken when Anne was persuaded by her friends and family that he was unsuitable. The ex-lovers meet again after a seven-year separation.
