Publisher Description: This three-volume book series explores the multiple dimensions of water governance, policy and management in a holistic way. Based on previously unpublished research findings from more than 40 researchers, it is aimed at managers and policymakers who wish to broaden their knowledge of financing strategies and review their agenda on water and sanitation services in order to give water resources development a place in their funding structures. The first volume covers the legal and institutional contexts pertaining to water financing innovations. It addresses the legal, institutional and market contexts in which innovative economic mechanisms and financial schemes are taking place in Africa. Atakilte Beyene is a senior researcher at the Nordic Africa Institute. His research focuses on agrarian and rural institutions, natural resource management, food security and gender studies. Cush Ngonzo Luwesi is an associate professor of economics and environment at the University of Kwango and Deputy Director General at the Health College of Kenge in DR Congo. |
