Publisher Description: William Huntington S.S. (2 February 1745 - 1 July 1813) was an English preacher and coalheaver and the man who preached to the Queen of England as well as the Prime Minister, and signed his letters William Huntington, S.S. (Saved Sinner). He taught that the moral law, or the 10 commandments, as published by Moses, was not the rule of life for the believer but rather the gospel, which is the Law Christ. He delighted in talking of the everlasting love of God, blessed redemption, all conquering grace, mysterious providence, the Spirit's work in mens souls and many other good news themes. He was charge with being an Antinomian although his writings and sermons do not bear this out. Huntington was a strict Calvinist who believed some were predestined to eternal life and some were not. He founded or opened chapels throughout England, many of which survive to this day. There are 20 volumes of his works that were published in 18011, this is Volume 11 of that series. Contents: THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HEAD NOTIONS, THE BROKEN CISTERN AND THE SPRINGING WELL EXCOMMUNICATION, AND THE DUTY OF ALL MEN TO BELIEVE, WEIGHED IN THE BALANCE. EXCOMMUNICATION, TO THE REV. JOHN RYLAND, JUNIOR. OF NORTHAMPTON. THE MORAL LAW NOT INJURED BY THE EVERLASTING GOSPEL. |
