Over the past 20 odd years, he has written a lot of books on lots of different subjects for both children and adults. He started off in travel--working on guides for Cadogan, Rough Guides, Lonely Planet, and Frommer's, among others--and visiting such far-flung places as Costa Rica, Belize, Turkey, and Great Yarmouth. Of late, he's specialized mainly in illustrated nonfiction, which has vastly increased his knowledge of dinosaurs, animals, outer space, ancient history, modern history, science, trains, music, and many other subjects. He does love a pub quiz.Veres, Laszlo: - Laszlo Veres is the main illustrator of Silver Dolphin's 3-D Explorer series for children. As well as illustrating a diverse range of publications on natural history, anatomy, and medieval life subjects, Veres is also a highly regarded expert on sailing ships. He is the illustrator of A Mariner's Tale, The Story of Sail, and Sailing Rigs. His illustrated books have been published all over the world, including the in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, the United Kingdom, Norway, Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Poland, Ukraine, Croatia, and Hungary. He lives in the city of Pécs, Hungary, with his family.
