Publisher Description:
New York City holds a special place in the hearts of its residents, but also in the imaginations of people from around the world. From the Statue of Liberty, to the Empire State Building, to the Brooklyn Bridge, New York's landmarks are as familiar to most of us as our own backyards. Its streets and neighborhoods have become a shorthand for ideas like luxury (Park Avenue, Fifth Avenue), excellence in performance (Broadway, Carnegie Hall), and even an artistic/creative lifestyle (Soho). In this book, Peter Alessandria presents his favorite New York images, including his own personal photography and images created by six top shooters who have made their names on today's most popular photo-sharing site, Instagram. Packed with bold, colorful, inventive images, this book provides a fresh look at New York's classic beauty and ever-evolving character!

By night, on weekends, and anytime in between, Karine identifies as a photographer. She was introduced to the wonder of photography during her second year at NYU and immediately fell in love with the art. It transformed the way she experienced her everyday surroundings allowing her to notice details normally taken for granted - light, shadows, reflections, shapes, colors, angles, lines. In other words, beauty. Karine's photographic inspiration is driven by New York's cityscape, or in other words the view of a city. In her eyes, New York holds no motives or expectations; seeks nothing and ask for nothing. The city is present as is, through a kind of selflessness and elegance that to Karine, defines sheer magnificence and poise. This simple complexity is what Karine strives to represent through her images."Alessandria, Peter: - Born and raised in New York City and Long Island, Peter Alessandria is a professional photographer and former entertainment attorney. The change from an Eastern European, Soviet bloc country to a Western Democracy was difficult enough. But moving from one culture to another wasn't even his greatest challenge, being deaf was. When Viktor was two, after becoming seriously ill with meningitis, Viktor lost all of his hearing. He has never let his deafness prevent him from life's challenges it only makes him push harder to succeed. He has embraced his deafness and turned it into an asset not a liability.
