Publisher Description: Elven Barnes is "Catbird," Currently he is in a coma after having been shot in the head. Scott King is investigating the shooting. He checks on Elven often, although part of the reason for his concern is the presence of Elven's nurse Heather, in whom Scott has an interest. Meanwhile, Elven is able to hear things going on in his room but is unable to move or speak. He doesn't mind the soft warmness of his coma but does mind hearing from "The Voice" which is forcing him to relive much of his life which is unpleasant to remember. Disturbed by his memories, Elven begins to exhibit signs that he might awaken. Will he wake up and tell Scott who shot him or will the person who shot him come to finish the job? Will anyone else get hurt? Elven has made a lot of enemies in his life and Scott questions suspect after suspect hoping to find the perpetrator before Elven is attacked again or someone else gets hurt. This book is dedicated to those who study the characters in this world and try to understand where they are coming from. Catbird is a complicated character with a different point of view and some unusual theories about life. |
