Publisher Description:

The Montfort Fathers Recommend This Book Above All Others To Help You Understand St. Louis-Marie de Montfort's Marian Spirituality"

In fact, it's the only book they've ever called "essential" to understanding his Marian spirituality. Here's what they said...

"The "Commentary on the Treatise on the True Devotion" points out everything the reader must know or remember in order to penetrate completely the immortal masterpiece of St. Louis-Marie Grignion de Montfort. It is an essential book for whoever desires to learn the Perfect Devotion."

They went on to say that this Commentary "furnishes to readers everything they must know in order to understand and taste the doctrine of Bl. Louis-Marie de Montfort."

Which is comforting to know, because St. Louis admitted there are many gaps in his "True Devotion to Mary". He confessed...

"I have now said many things about the Most Holy Virgin; but I have many more to say, and there are infinitely more which I shall omit, whether from ignorance, inability, or want of time" (True Devotion, #111).

You'll be happy to know that this Commentary goes far beyond filling in the gaps in the True Devotion. Because although the title says this book is a commentary on the True Devotion, it actually gives you a complete understanding of St. Louis' spirituality as a whole. This includes what he wrote, for example, in "The Secret of Mary" and "The Love of Eternal Wisdom".

That's why, in explaining why he wrote this book, Fr. Plessis says...

"Doctrinal density, included in a brief text! The same conciseness naturally calls for explanations. Otherwise, many readers will be confused, and will declare themselves incapable of enjoying the Montfortian spirituality."

As you know, Jesus said...

"Strive to enter by the narrow gate; for many, I say to you, shall seek to enter, and shall not be able" (Lk. 13:24).

But when this Commentary shows you how to live St. Louis' Marian spirituality, you're doing three things which virtually guarantee your eternal salvation, namely:

(1) You're carrying out Jesus' command: "Be perfect, just as your heavenly Father is perfect" (Mt. 5:48).

That's why St. Louis says: "This devotion is an easy, short, perfect, and secure way of arriving at union with Our Lord, in which the perfection of a Christian consists" (True Devotion, #152).

(2) You're doing the will of God the Father. As Jesus said: "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord, ' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of My Father in heaven" (Mt. 7:21).

That's why St. Louis says: "Oh, how highly we glorify God, when, after the example of Jesus, we submit ourselves to Mary!" (True Devotion, #139)

(3) You're doing what St. Paul says: "Whatever you do, do everything for the glory of God" (1 Cor. 10:31).

That's why St. Louis says: "This devotion, faithfully practiced, is an excellent means of making sure that the value of all our good works shall be employed for the greater glory of God" (True Devotion, #151).

What's more, St. James says: "He must know that he who causes a sinner to be converted from the error of his way, shall save his soul from death, and shall cover a multitude of sins" (James 5:20).

That's why St. Louis says about living this devotion: "Is this not to love our neighbor perfectly? Is this not the way to covert sinners, without any fear of vanity; and to deliver souls from Purgatory, without scarcely doing anything but what we are obliged to do by our state of life?" (True Devotion, #171).

All in all, receiving the benefits of this devotion is much better than risking becoming one of the many who Jesus said will be spending an eternity in "the furnace of fire" (Mt. 13:42).

Therefore, since you can receive so many graces from a complete understanding of St. Louis de Montfort's Marian spirituality, why no
