Publisher Description:
This is the story of Loraine and her daughter Dominique and the life lessons that they learn in life. This is also a story about appreciating what you have instead of chasing false ideas and beliefs. Subjects that are touched upon in this novel are: HIV, African-American relationships, the black male, and stereotypes. The book is broken in two parts on purpose. The first part focuses on the mother Loraine Davis. The second part focuses on her daughter, Dominique Davis. The reason for this is so the reader gets to see the dynamics of what each woman experiences. I take you from the ghettos of Third Ward in the south east of Houston to the luxurious neighborhoods of River Oaks. Anything is game and all is for keeps. Along the way you will meet many of the supporting characters as well. You will also get to see how these characters influence the main characters. You will also get to see how the fast life moves and how quick easy money can come. But you the reader will also see the often common side effects of the fast life. And how the characters within the novel react and deal with the consequences of their actions.
