Terri Crisp is the author of Out of Harm's Way and Emergency Animal Rescue Stories. As the program manager for SPCA International's Operation Baghdad Pups, she has made more than thirty trips to Iraq and Afghanistan since the program's inception. She has been interviewed on Oprah, national television news programs, and morning talk shows. Numerous national publications, including the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Boston Globe, San Francisco Chronicle, Washington Post, and Wall Street Journal, have run stories about her work. She lives in Somerset, California.

Cindy Hurn, freelance writer, ghostwriter, and editor, is the coauthor of No Buddy Left Behind: Bringing U.S. Troops' Dogs and Cats Safely Home from the Combat Zone. Her essays, short stories, and poetry have been published in the Sacramento Bee, Sacramento's Poetry Now magazine, and the Calaveras Station Literary Journal.

Nicole Vilencia became a full-time radio personality right out of high school and has worked for twenty-two years at radio stations across the country. When not rolling dice in Las Vegas, donning a mask for Mardi Gras on the streets of New Orleans, or entertaining radio listeners, she can be found cooking for her daughter in a rambling Ashland, Oregon, farmhouse.
