Contributor Bio(s): Hirasaki, Manabi: - Manabi Hirasaki, a lifelong farmer in regions throughout California, is a former grower and board member of Driscoll Strawberry Associates, Inc. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army with the 522nd Field Artillery Battalion of the 442nd Regimental Combat Team. He and his wife, Sumi, have been supporters of the Japanese American National Museum since its inception.Hirahara, Naomi: - Naomi Hirahara is a writer and editor of nonfiction and fiction books on the Japanese American experience. She authored the biography An American Son: The Story of George Aratani, Founder of Mikasa and Kenwood for the Japanese American National Museum. She is a former editor of The Rafu Shimpo, a Japanese American daily newspaper in Los Angeles. |
