He is a retired fire captain for the City of Atlanta fire rescue, after 27 years of service to the community. He currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia. Ferdinand felt the need to write this children's book as a creative expression and to address social issues that will help youths to develop into productive adults and make positive contributions to their communities and society. He is spending his retirement years in pursuit of his dream to complete a series of books for ARose Publishing company in honor of his mother. Ferdinand will continue to travel the world for motivation and to garner ideas for his series.
