Contributor Bio(s): Krages, Bert: - Bert P. Krages II attended law school at the University of Oregon and holds a master's degree in the environmental engineering from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His law practice concentrates on intellectual property issues but also handles various other kinds of law, such as general litigation and environmental regulation. He is recognized nationally as an advocate of the right to take photographs in public places and has appeared in media such as National Public Radio's Morning Edition, Popular Photography, Shutterbug, and Wired. He is admitted to practice in the courts of Oregon and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He resides in Portland, OR.Fagans, Michael: - Michael Fagans enjoys telling people's stories. His journey has taken him to the Navajo Nation, Malawi, India, Afghanistan, Scotland, Canada, the Dominican Republic, Belize, and Guatemala. He graduated from the Rochester Institute of Technology's College of Imaging Arts and Sciences and was the National Press Photographers Association's 2005 Photographer of the Year for New York state and Ontario and Quebec provinces. His photography clients include The Center for Investigative Reporting, United Way of Kern County, Epigraph Records, Kern Food Policy Council, The New York Times, and the National Journal. He resides in Bakersfield, California. |
