The collection first appeared in 1885 under the title Penny Whistles, but has been reprinted many times, often in illustrated versions. Robert Louis Balfour Stevenson (1850-1894) was a Scottish novelist, poet, essayist, and travel writer. His most famous works are Treasure Island, Kidnapped, Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde and A Child's Garden of Verses. |
